Christopher Wellington, Esq. was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2016. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2011, and his Juris Doctor Degree from American University, Washington College of Law in 2015. Mr. Wellington is an active member of the Black Sports and Entertainment Lawyers Association (BESLA) and has served as co-chair for their Young Lawyers Division’s programming committee. He has also worked with the Volunteer Lawyers of the Arts on many occasions providing pro-bono services.
Mr. Wellington is experienced in negotiating and drafting various entertainment-related contracts for recording artists, writers, and music producers in the music industry. In addition, he has experience representing on-screen talent and production companies for scripted and unscripted television. Mr. Wellington has also represented small businesses in various transactional matters, including forming business entities, securing investor funding, obtaining tax-exempt status for Not-for-Profit organizations, joint ventures, registration of trademarks, and registration of copyrights. Mr. Wellington is experienced in negotiating and drafting various real estate-related contracts for residential and commercial transactions. He represents various real estate related clients, including new and seasoned real estate investors, homeowners looking to sell, and both veteran and first-time homebuyers.
